Objectivos

Intended learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences to be developed by the students): • LO1 Understand the Key Drivers of Digital Transformation: Students will gain knowledge of the main technological, market, and regulatory factors that drive digital transformation. • LO2 Analyze the Impact of Digitalization on Business Models: Students will develop the ability to assess how digitalization alters business models and enhances value creation. • LO3 Develop Digital Transformation Strategies: Students will learn to create and implement strategies to guide digital transformation in various sectors. • LO4 Apply Strategic Frameworks to Manage Disruptions: Students will apply strategic frameworks to effectively manage and adapt to digital disruptions. Competencies: Strategic thinking, digital technology application, leadership in digital change, critical thinking, problem-solving.

Session 1: Introduction to Digital Strategy • Defining digital strategy and understanding its evolution. • Exploring the role of digital strategy in gaining a competitive advantage. • Aligning digital strategy with broader business objectives and goals. Session 2: Fundamentals of Digital Transformation • Understanding what digital transformation entails. • Examining digital disruption and the technologies reshaping industries. • Key drivers of digital transformation: Cloud computing, IoT, AI, big data, and automation. Session 3: Digital Business Models and Value Creation • Exploring various digital business models: Subscription-based, platform-driven, and freemium models. • Analyzing case studies of organizations that successfully transformed through digital strategies. • How digital ecosystems create and enhance business value. Session 4: Digital Technologies and Their Impact on Business Transformation • Cloud computing’s role in enhancing business flexibility and cost-effectiveness. • Leveraging big data analytics for smarter decision-making. • The rise of IoT and its impact on Industry 4.0. • The integration of AI and machine learning into business processes. Session 5: Managing Digital Change and Organizational Transformation • Assessing organizational readiness for embracing digital transformation. • Addressing challenges in digital transformation: Overcoming cultural barriers, bridging skill gaps, and modernizing legacy systems. • Leadership and change management strategies for driving digital transformation. • Frameworks for guiding and managing organizational change in the digital age. Session 6: Digital Transformation and Sustainability • The role of digital transformation in supporting sustainability goals. • Exploring Green IT and sustainable technology management practices. • Real-world case studies of digital tools contributing to sustainable business practices and operations.

Método de Avaliação

Individual Class Engagement – 20% Active participation in class discussions, in-class exercises, and critical engagement with course concepts. Group Work – 50% Group project analyzing a digital transformation challenge in a real organization or industry, applying the frameworks and concepts covered in the course. Includes presentation in Session 6. Exam – 30% Individual written exam assessing conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and the ability to integrate digital strategy, business transformation, organizational change, and financial considerations.
