Objectivos
This course constitutes an introduction to the methodological apparatus of qualitative social science research, having in mind the main epistemological questions at stake and using the organizational and corporate context as empirical reference. It is expected that the students acquire methodological knowledge and competences relevant for their Master’s final work.

1 - Qualitative methodologies: an introduction: 1.1 - Distinctive characteristics and internal diversity of qualitative methodologies; 1.2 - The qualitative case-study: main controversies. 2 - Qualitative research techniques: 2.1 - Interviews and life-histories; 2.2 - Participatory methodologies; 2.3 - Ethnography; 2.4 - Documental research; 2.5 – Interpretive and Semiotic Content Analysis.
Método de Avaliação
The course combines a lecture-based approach, with a view to reinforcing both the knowledge and the critical reflection regarding qualitative methodologies, with a theoretical-practical approach designed to involve the students in exercises and rehearsals with specific research instruments and techniques related to their research interests.
