ASSESSMENT RULES

 

There are two types of assessment:    

1. Regular Assessment - the students have to take two exams:

          A) Mid-term Exam during the mid-term assessment period.

  • The topics covered on this exam are going to be announced by mid-October.
  • Minimum mark required: 4/20.
  • Time: 75 minutes.
  • Date: 06-11-2018, 14H00.

       B) Regular assessment Exam during the regular assessment period.

  • This exam covers the topics detailed in the syllabus plan of the module that were not covered on the Mid-term Exam.
  • Minimum mark required: 4/20.
  • Time: 75 minutes.
  • Date: 18-01-2019, 09H00.

The final grade is the arithmetic average of the marks obtained in each of the two exams. A minimum final grade of 9.5 is required to be approved.

   2. Resit Assessment - This type of assessment is for students that have not met the pass criteria of the module in the regular assessment and for students that wish to improve their marks (melhorias). The assessment will take place on the date scheduled by the School in the repeat exam period, by a written exam. It covers all topics detailed in the programme of the module.

  • This exam covers all the topics detailed in the syllabus plan of the module.
  • Time: 120 minutes.
  • Date: 05-02-2019, 12H00.

A minimum final grade of 9.5 is required to be approved.

 Instructions for the exams:

• Make sure your mobile phone/smartwatch is switched off. Put this equipments in silence it is not enough. It is not allowed to use any electronic devices, namely equipments with communication capability.

• All the answers should be written in clear legible English with blue or black ink. Do not use pencils or erasable pens at any time.

• Answer all the exam questions in the answer booklets of ISEG (folhas de teste do ISEG). Bring you own clean scrap paper (one sheet only). You cannot share scrap paper during the exam.

• You are allowed to bring one sheet (2 sides A4) with handwritten notes. You cannot share this sheet during the exam.

• Students are responsible for printing the statistical tables available in Aquila and for taking them to the exam. You cannot share the statistical tables during the exam.

• You may use calculators without communication capability. You cannot share calculators during the exam.

• You are not allowed to leave the exam rooms in the first 30 minutes. After this, if you leave the room, you are not allowed to return.

• Stop writing immediately when the invigilator says it, at the end of the exam. Students must remain seated at their desks and in silence until all examination scripts have been collected by an invigilator and they are instructed that they may leave.

• You are responsible to ensure that your answer scripts are submitted at the end of the examination to the invigilator. If you are present for the examination and do not want to submit an answer script, you have to write a signed statement in which you declare that do not want to submit an answer script. Note that in this case your mark in the exam is zero.

• At any time, breaking one or more of the above rules will cause the exam annulment.
