We focused on the mode and introduced the moment generating function (MGF). We looked at some properties of the MGF and illustrated how it is used to obtain different raw moments.

We looked at some examples on how to calculate the variance of a discrete and continuous random variable. We then introduced the standard deviation and the coefficient of variation. We defined what we mean by a symmetric probability (density) function, by coefficient of asymmetry (skewness) and kurtosis. We also introduced the quantiles of order alpha and looked at some examples.
