We introduced the univariate random variables and the cumulative distribution function. We presented some basic properties of the CDF and went through some simple examples on games of chance on how to compute them.

We discussed about different interpretations of probability: Laplace's definition of probability, the relative frequency definition and the subjective interpretation of probability. Then we introduced the conditional probability, and from there we introduced the total probability theorem, the multiplication theorem and the Bayes theorme to calculate probabilities. We finished with independent events.

We talked about events, their cardinality, operations with events, the Venn diagrams, and we proved some very useful, basic and important properties about events. We then introduced the sample space, the Kolmogorov axioms, and we proved important properties of probability measures based on Kolmogorov's axioms.
