Two alternatives:
- Continuos evaluation
- Case Study (20%)
- 2 Mini-test (20%)
- Final Exam in the first or the second examination period (60%)
- Final exam in the second examination period (100%)
Continuos Evaluation
- The continuos evaluation method has three moments of evaluation
- Case study (20%) (compulsory)
- 2 mini-tests (10% each) (optional, only used when it raises the student final grade)
- Final exam in the first or second examination periods (60%) (compulsory)
- Therefore, the final grade for those who choose continuous evaluation is given by max(A,B,C,D)
- Where
- A = 0,8Final Exam + 0,2Case
- B = 0,7Final Exam + 0,2Case + 0,1Minitest1
- C = 0,7Final Exam + 0,2Case + 0,1Minitest2
- D = 0,6Final Exam + 0,2Case + 0,1Minitest1 + 0,1Minitest2
- Groups up to 3 students (compulsory). Groups with 4 or more students will not be allowed;
- Each group will choose a firm listed in one of the main world stock exchanges included in one top stock index (EU, USA, Brazil, Japan, …), but not listed in the blacklist , posted on Aquila;
- The report and the presentation slides must be written in English. The presentation will also be done in English;
- Only three groups will present their project and three other groups will discuss the presentation. These six groups will be chosen at random in the presentation day
- The presentation slides, can not have more than 10 slides and the presentation will take no longer than 15 minutes
- Each group must fill a form until the end of February identifying its members and the selected firm. After that,
- Each group will evaluate a different firm
- You can not choose financial firms and, preferably, you should choose smaller and less complicated firms, avoiding conglomerates
- Multiple-choice
- In English or in Portuguese (chosen by the student)
- Closed book (key equations will be provided)
- Each test represents 10% of the final grade
- Individual exam in one of the two examination periods

- To succeed students must get a minimum grade of 8.0 out of 20.
