Evaluation is composed of 2 parts: .

Semester-based (Ao longo do semestre)

1.       Participation: Listening 10%; Speaking 10%; Reading 10%; Writing (portfolio) 10%;

2.       Oral presentation in group 20%;

3.       Written mini-test (mid semester in class and open book) 15%

Final written exam (Época normal/de recurso, 2 hours, closed book) 25%

Students who obtain a written mark of 10 or above in the final exam will be required to sit an oral exam if there is a difference of 3 marks or more between the written exam mark and oral component marks from the semester-based assessment. If the student has no semester-based assessment, the final mark is an average of the written exam and an oral exam. Students who do not attend a final written exam will receive 'F' (falta) for their final mark for that period irrespective of their semester-based assessment mark.

Note: Continued unjustified absences will hinder progress and may invalidate the semester-based mark of the student. Students who are unable to attend classes on a regular basis should inform the teacher as soon as possible.

Further information on the semester-based components is available in the 'Evaluation notes' file in 'Secções opcionais'.
