To address the relevance of micro-heterogeneity for macroeconomic dynamics focusing on public debt management. After reviewing the literature on the theory and practice of public debt management, tow topics are covered: (1) the impact of investor heterogeneity on the cost and risk of sovereign debt; (2) sovereign debt crisis and investor behaviour.
