In Session 5, we will first discuss the emergence of the Western-led “Liberal Order” in the post-1945 World War II and how it has been challenged since 2008 by the Rising of the Rest, in particular East Asia. It will also focus on how the under-challenged liberal order is also facing an increasingly state and non-state tech-driven securitised global arena.
