This course is based on a system of continuous assessment. Students are expected to participate in classes and will be evaluated on the basis of: (i) Active participation in one debate (20%), Oxford-style with two teams arguing a predetermined statement – “motion” – from two opposing perspectives. Students will be accessed on their preparation and argumentation. (ii) Invited topic presentation (20%), PICO-style (Presenting Interactive COntent) adapted to class setting. Students will be asked to prepare one presentation file fulfilling two needs: (1) an introductory 3-minute oral (pitch) to present a summary of their work, and (2) an unlimited (but reasonable) number of slides going into more detail and suitable for further viewing at screen display. Students will be accessed on the relevance and presentation of their work. (iii) An individual written exam (60%) covering questions discussed during classes.
