Please make sure to read this instructions carefully and test the file upload process in Fenix, as outlined below.

Please find below the instructions for your Risk Theory exam.

The exam consists of two parts: Part 1, with an allowed time of two hours, and Part 2, held in the computer room, with an allowed time of one hour.

  • For both parts, you will be provided with the Loss Models Appendix Formulary, which is the same as the one available on the course webpage on Fenix. This will be distributed to you, you should not bring yours.
  • You are also allowed to consult the orange book, which you should bring.
  • These are the only materials you may refer to during the exam.
  • For Part 1, you may use a calculator.

At the end of Part 2, you must upload your R file to your Fenix account. To do this:

  1. Go to the "Evaluations" section under the Risk Theory course tab.
  1. Upload your file in the designated area.

To help you prepare for this process, a Test Assessment has been opened on Fenix. Please practice uploading any file to make sure you are familiar with the procedure.

It is your responsibility to ensure you can successfully upload the required file at the end of the exam.

During Part 2, you will have access to R, including the "actuar" package. However, you will not have access to the internet, except briefly at the end to upload your file.

Important rules:

  • The use of phones, smartphones, or any electronic devices is strictly prohibited.
  • You may not leave the exam room during the first 40 minutes of the exam.
  • After 40 minutes, you may leave only if you submit your exam paper.

Best of luck with your preparation!

Best wishes,

Alexandra Moura
