Evolution and context of HRM

The four stages of evolution of HRM along with the changing environmental context were discussed in detail during the lesson. The key issues facing HRM in the current fourth stage viz. digitisation, AI et al. were highlighted with examples. The evolving employment models along with emerging roles of HR practitioners were discussed and a relevant video was also presented. The relevance of diversity and inclusion practices as one of the over-arching themes of HRM was brought out in the classroom through a group exercise - round table. The groups presented their views on what initiatives/  strategies organisations must adopt to enhance diversity and inclusion.

Finally a debate on the topic HRM and Artificial Intelligence was conducted to encourage a thought provoking discussion on contemporary issues in the field of HRM.
