We discussed the multiple linear regression model, and the OLS output from Excel focusing on the R-square, the adjusted R-square, the computation of the standard errors, the tests for individual and joint significance.

We discussed the Chi-square goodness of fit and the contingency tables, as well as started to discuss the simple linear regression model. All the concepts were illustrated in application exercises.

We discussed about the type I and II errors, their connections, the power of tests, different types of hypotheses and illustrated the new ideas by focusing on tests for the mean of a population. We also discussed the p-value approach to testing. Finally we focused on the analysis of variance (ANOVA).
