Regarding the role of the State, you might find interested in following up with the work done at UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose.

The final slide of yesterday’s class (which we did not discuss) is about the brand new The European Competence Framework for Research Managers. Take a look.

It is a tool designed to assess and develop research managers’ transferable skills and foster career development.

You might find it useful as a starting point for your own reflection on future jobs and skills.
