We started to discuss about sampling and sampling distributions. We discussed about population, sample and inference versus descriptive statistics. We illustrated in a simple example how to obtain the sampling distribution of the sample mean. We discussed about simple random sampling and focused on the derivation of the variance of the sample mean. We did a recap of the central limit theorem.
